Early Signs of Appendicitis and it’s Treatment

Appendicitis occurs due to the inflammation of your appendix. It is a finger-shaped pouch that projects from the colon on the lower right side of the abdomen. Besides, it can cause pain in that side of the abdomen.

Pain first appears in the navel, and then it starts to move to the appendix area. When the inflammation gets worse, the pain increases, and eventually, it becomes severe.

Normally, anyone can develop the symptoms of appendicitis, but it mainly happens in people who are around ten to thirty years old.

The Early Signs and Symptoms of Appendicitis:
  1. Loss of appetite
  2. Diarrhea and constipation
  3. Flatulence
  4. Vomiting and nausea
  5. Bloating of the abdomen
  6. Sudden pain on the right side of your lower abdomen
  7. Pain that gets worse when you walk, cough, or makes sudden movements
  8. Low worsening fever with the progress of the illness
Treatment of Appendicitis:

You will probably have to undergo emergency surgery for appendicitis. Appendectomy, a surgery to remove your appendix, is the main standard treatment for most appendicitis cases.

If the doctor thinks that you are suffering from appendicitis, s/he will remove it to avoid a rupture. In case there is an abscess, you will require to have two procedures- one that drains the abscess full of fluid and pus and another one for taking out the appendix. However, some recent research demonstrates that if you have acute appendicitis, you can treat it with the help of antibiotics. This will prevent you from having any kind of surgery.
